You know that friend who keeps asking you to make them knitwear? The one who keeps asking you to teach them how to knit? We have just the event for them: 10,000 New Knitters.
10,000 New Knitters is an event sponsored by Skacel, the parent company of Addi needles, as a way to connect yarn stores with local people who wish to learn how to knit. They are donating 10,000 beginning knitting kits to yarn stores all over the nation to make this happen. We are so excited to be part of this national project and to help spread the love of fiber arts to people throughout our local community.
This event is scheduled to take place on Saturday, November 10th, 2018 but because everyone has busy schedules and we have limited room, we are turning it into a three-day event spanning Saturday (11/10), Sunday (11/11), and Monday (11/12). Each day offers multiple time slots with intimate class sizes taught by expert knitters from our own community.
Spread the word to your family and friends (especially those who keep asking you to make them knitting projects!)
This event can be followed on social media via @10000NewKnitters and #10000NewKnitters
If you don't know how to knit and are interested in participating in this event as a student, head over here to reserve your spot.
Registration is open to anyone who doesn’t know how to knit (or is very rusty) but wants to learn and can make it to our store during the event. We recommend children be accompanied by an adult (usually 10+ is a good age to learn).
Register your date and time slot online or in-store. On that day, come to the shop a few minutes before your scheduled session to meet your instructors and receive your free kit. Community instructors will walk you through the basics of starting your project and teach you the essentials you need to learn how to knit!
Nothing but a great attitude and eagerness to learn!
