Arbor, released today, strays from BT's other yarn lines (Loft, Shelter, and Quarry) in both look and feel. Arbor is a 3-ply, DK weight yarn, made from 100% American Targhee Wool. Targhee wool has a merino-like softness to the fibers and a micron count of 23. The sheep that grow the wool for Arbor live in Montana and South Dakota. The wool is then spun and dyed in Maine. Arbor is spun in a tighter ply than other BT yarns which gives it precise and bold stitch definition, perfect for both basic stockinette and complex textural elements. The thirty color-ways of Arbor are saturated in color and dyed in rich, earthy tones. Arbor was designed to work as a classic, workhorse yarn for both larger and smaller projects.
Brooklyn Tweed released a collection of gorgeous patterns which accompany the new yarn. The store favorites are: High Pines Cowl, Guernsey Wrap, and Laurel (shown below, click on picture to go to pattern).
