The Gr8 Gingham Hat is perfect for beginners who want to learn stranded colorwork. This pattern has a simple, yet classic, two color design that will fly off your needles.
When: Fridays December 2nd and 9th from 6-8pm
Skills Learned: Provisional 1x1 ribbed tubular cast-on, how to hold your yarn for colorwork, maintaining proper tension, dominant vs non-dominant color, and catching floats.
Required Skills: Knitters must be confident knitting, purling, and fixing basic mistakes.
Homework: Purchase materials for this class prior to the class. You will need sufficient quantities of sport weight yarn (our store sample is knit with Fleck by Woolfolk). You will need waste yarn (a smooth sport, fingering, or lace weight) and a crochet hook (5 to 7mm) for the provisional cast-on. Size 4 and 6 US double pointed needles or circular needles are required for this project.
