The "I'm so basic!" sock is exactly that! This beautifully-written and easy-to-follow pattern is the perfect introduction to both sock knitting and magic loop. The leg and foot of the sock are knit in stockinette, so a bold yarn will really shine for this project. In this class, you will learn how to set up and use magic loop, how to knit a gusset and turn a heel (it's not so scary - we promise!), and how to decrease and close the toe.
When: Tuesdays July 19th & 26th OR Monday August 15th & 22nd from 6-8pm
Skills Learned: Top down sock knitting, kitchener stitch, turning a heel, magic loop
Required Skills: Knitters taking the class will need to know long-tail cast on, knitting and purling, and simple decreases (k2tog, p2tog, and SSK) - you'll learn the rest in class!
Homework: Purchase materials and complete a swatch for this class prior to the class. You will need one skein of sock yarn for the body of the sock, one skein or mini-skein of sock yarn in a contrasting color (used for the cuff, heel, and toe), a US size 1 40" circular needle (or size to obtain gauge), and a tapestry needle for weaving in ends.
