Wrap yourself in airy warmth with a geometric stole inspired by seamen’s ganseys. This workshop is meant as a compliment to our Intro to Portuguese Knitting class, and is the ideal next step for those wishing to practice and progress their Portuguese knitting skills. You will learn how navigate changing stitch patterns while making adjustments with the Portuguese technique.
Worked from end to end with basic techniques, this wrap is accessible to beginning knitters as well as veterans who want a project that’s easy to pick up and put down. Knit and purl stitches create reversible blocks of diamonds, arrows, and moss stitch that grow quickly into a simple and satisfying project. There’s no wrong side to the wrap; the two surfaces are different but equally handsome.
