The kitchener stitch is famously a tricky method for grafting live stitches together, but creates a beautifully smooth bind-off in sock toes, and seamlessly completes sweater shoulders and underarms. In this class, we will work together to master the kitchener stitch so you will have confidence with it going into your next garment project!
When: Friday, March 24th from 6 - 8 PM
Skills learned: This class will be all kitchener stitch! You will be a master of this stitch by the end of class.
Required skills: Students should know how to knit and purl.
Homework: Please bring two swatches of stockinette stitch, but do not bind off! We will be using the live edge of the swatches, so both will need to still be on needles. The swatches should be at least 20 stitches in length, and at least 8 rows should be worked so that you have something to hold on to. The needles can be any size, but both swatches should be on the same size needle. On each swatch, cut your working yarn, but make sure at least one tail is at least 3 times the length of your stitches plus 6 inches. You will also need a darning or tapestry needle.
