Learn garment knitting fundamentals that will elevate your finished hand knits. In this workshop you will learn everything about the selvedge stitch, which creates neat edges on your knitted pieces. Develop an understanding of the different kinds of knitted selvedges, and which ones you use depending on the edge you need. Expert designer, Tayler Harris, will walk you through garter stitch, slip stitch, i-cord and seed stitch selvedges, and will teach you how to incorporate them into you pattern. Students will learn the when, why and how for this technique!
When: Tuesday, February 28th 10:30am- 12:30pm
Skills Learned: Selvedge edge fundamentals
Required Skills: Must be confident with knitting, purling and reading your stitches.
Homework: Please bring worsted weight yarn, US 7-8 needles (16- 24" should be fine) and stitch markers to class.
