Blocking is an essential step in turning your hand knit items into masterfully finished products. Natural fibers will relax through the process evening out stitches, smoothing the fabric, and bringing the garment to the right shape and size.
Learn how to make your handknits look more professional and polished with our Blocking Mastery Class, led by local designer Tayler Harris. In this 2 hour course you will go over technical skills such as wet & steam blocking, how to effectively use blocking wires (specifically for piece garments and shawls) and the best methods for blocking socks and hats.
When: Wednesday, January 25th from 6-8PM
Required Skills: None!
Homework: Knit (stockinette with a garter stitch selvedge) a 6x6 swatch in worsted weight yarn before class.
