Possibly one of the most intimidating parts of sweater construction, short row shaping can seem daunting, but once learning will make sense forever. Short rows are used to create triangles or wedges within your garment, which creates shaping necessary to fit our bodies. Master the art of of Short Rows in this 2 night workshop with master designer, Tayler Harris. In this class you will learn several ways to work a short row and to identify them within your knitting thereby gaining confidence and expertise so that you can implement these techniques at home.
When: Tuesday January 18th & Friday January 21st from 6-8PM OR Wednesdays, February 9th & 16th from 6-8PM
Skills Learned: All things short rows: German, Japanese, Yarn Over & Wrap and Turn. Become confident in reading each technique and incorporating them into your knitting.
Required Skills: Must be confident with knitting, purling and with fixing basic mistakes.
Homework: Please purchase your favorite worsted weight yarn and size 8 needle before class, and prepare 4 separate swatches. Cast on 40 stitches and knit 20 rows of each. Do not finished each swatch- you will be working different short rows with each.
